The Omron E3ZG812MOMS is a through-beam photoelectric sensor in the E3Z family. Its 25 mm sensing gap targets part-present detection on small sub-assemblies — compact enough (11 mm wide) to mount alongside pneumatic actuators or on a transfer rail. The infrared LED source gives better ambient rejection than red LED in high-glare environments. A 1 ms response handles fast index lines; the 2 m cable runs direct to the PLC input. Spade-type mounting brackets fit the same M3 screw spacing as the E3Z predecessors. PNP output at 100 mA drives most PLC inputs directly; select Light-ON or Dark-ON via the wiring config. Operating voltage 12–24 VDC, IP64 protection for dry indoor use.
Cable vs connector
The E3ZG81M3JOMS shares the same optics, housing, and ratings but terminates with an M8 4-pin connector instead of the 2 m cable. Both are PNP. The cable version (E3ZG812MOMS) avoids an extra junction box; the connector version speeds replacement and reduces wire count on multi-sensor arrays. No other differences — same 11×40×50 mm envelope, same mounting bracket compatibility. For NPN systems, the E3ZG61M3JOMS is identical except for the output stage.
