Swap off the cable variant
If you're replacing a cable-terminated E3ZL812MOMS, the E3ZL86OMS shares the same 90mm diffuse range, PNP output, and 1ms response. The only difference is the termination: M8 connector instead of a 2m pigtail. Footprint is identical (10.8×20mm), so it drops in without moving the bracket. On the van, keep a pre-terminated M8 cordset handy – no splicing, no crimp tools.
On-site performance notes
1ms response handles moderate line speeds – count parts passing at several per second without a double-count. The 100mA PNP output drives a PLC input direct; no intermediate relay needed. IP67 case shrugs off washdown, but the lens will fog if wet air blasts it – a quick wipe restores the diffuse beam.
