E3ZLL612MOMS is the NPN output variant in Omron's E3Z distance-setting family. It gives you a 20–300 mm sensing range from a red LED source, switching in 1 ms with Light-ON/Dark-ON selectable. Rated IP67 with a 2 m cable, so it's a washdown-ready sensor for position detection on conveyors, packaging lines, or material handling.
NPN vs. PNP – the one spec that rewires your panel
The closest functional sibling is E3ZLL81M3J03MOMS. Same 20–300 mm range, same 1 ms response, same mechanical package and cable termination. Only the output type changes: this part sinks current (NPN), the sibling sources it (PNP). If your PLC input card is designed for sinking sensors, this is the one. Swapping to the PNP version means re-pulling the signal wiring and possibly changing the input module — that's another SKU I don't need. If response time is critical, note that E3ZLL832MOMS cuts it to 500 µs, but that part is also PNP and carries a 25 mm minimum sensing distance rather than 20 mm.
Mounting and environment
The housing is 10.8 mm wide, 31 mm tall, 20 mm deep — fits a standard 12 mm bracket or proximity-sensor holder. Cable is 2 m, PVC-jacketed, so plan your junction box location accordingly. IP67 holds up to hose-down cleaning in food or washdown zones, but keep ambient temperature between -10 and +55 °C.
