What the ratings mean for fit
The E3ZM-T88H is a through-beam photoelectric sensor in a compact stainless steel housing, rated IP69K for high-pressure washdown. The PNP output and 0.8 m sensing distance suit short-range detection in wet or corrosive environments — food processing lines or chemical wash stations. You power it at 12 to 24 VDC through the M8 4-pin connector, with selectable light-on or dark-on operation.
How it compares to E3ZM-T81 2M
Both are E3ZM-series through-beam sensors with PNP output and stainless steel bodies, but the T88H uses an M8 connector whereas the T81 2M comes with a 2 m prewired cable. The sensing distance difference is substantial — 0.8 m here vs 15 m on the cable version. If your panel is laid out for M8 plug-in sensors and the gap is under a meter, the T88H drops in without rewiring. For long-range applications or panels wired through bulkhead glands, the T81 2M is the correct choice.
