Mounting and Wiring the M8 Connector
The sensor terminates in a 4-pin M8 connector – no cable to strip, no factory pigtail. That means a swap takes under a minute: unplug the old, plug the new. Ensure your mating cordset follows the same pinout (pin assignments per Omron standard for E3ZM sensors). For panel layout, the 21 mm width fits tight slots; through-hole mounting requires two M3 screws (not supplied) spaced per the datasheet template. The red LED serves as an indicator and alignment aid: visible when the target enters the light or dark sensing region. Light/Dark ON selectable via the wire or sensor configuration (typically by connecting the appropriate wire high or low).
