Product details

Omron's EE-SX670R is a compact through-beam photoelectric sensor from the SX67 series, packing transmitter and receiver into one U-slot body. It's built for tight spots where you need to detect a small opaque object — down to 2 mm x 0.8 mm — at a fixed 5 mm gap. The PNP output switches at 3 kHz, making it fast enough for counting or registration applications on small assembly or packaging stations.

The 5-24V DC supply range covers common control voltages without needing a separate regulator, but it's DC-only — don't feed it AC. The 50 mA load current maximum is typical for driving a PLC input or small relay directly; don't plan on powering a contactor coil from it. IP50 means it's protected against dust ingress but not against splashing water or hose-down, so keep it inside a control cabinet or dry location. The solder-terminal connection requires wiring in the panel — no prewired cable, so plan for a terminal block nearby.

The 6 mm wide U-slot body with straight sensor face slides into a bracket or mounts directly with the included hardware. Solder terminals accept 0.2–2.5 mm² wire; strip about 8 mm. The selectable light-on/dark-on mode is set via a switch on the body — no programming tool needed. The indicator light gives a quick go/no-go on alignment and target presence.

Frequently asked questions

What is the closest functional second-source to the EE-SX670R?

The Omron E3Z-T81K 2M is a through-beam PNP sensor with a much longer 15 m range and IP67 ingress rating, but it uses a prewired cable and has a 1 msec response — slower than the EE-SX670R's 0.17 msec. It won't drop into the same bracket or wiring scheme without rework.

What compliance documentation does the EE-SX670R carry?

The sensor carries CE and RU (Russia) approvals. RoHS and REACH compliance are standard for Omron's SX67 series, but specific declarations should be requested with the RFQ.

Will the EE-SX670R drop into a panel specified around the E3Z-T81K 2M without rewiring?

No. The EE-SX670R uses solder terminals, while the E3Z-T81K 2M has a 2 m prewired cable. Physical mounting also differs — the EE-SX670R is a 6 mm wide U-slot, the E3Z is a rectangular body. Panel layout and wiring would need changes.
