5 mm through-beam in a compact U-slot
The Omron EE-SX770 is a through-beam photoelectric sensor in the EE-SX77 series, with a maximum sensing distance of 5 mm. It detects opaque objects as small as 2 mm by 0.8 mm, making it a fit for edge detection, label sensing, or part-presence checks in tight spaces — the U-slot body lets you mount it directly around a moving web or belt. Response time is 0.17 ms, and the switching frequency hits 3 kHz — fast enough to catch parts on a moderate-speed conveyor or rotary indexer without missing edges. The infrared LED emitter is invisible, so it won't trigger false readings from ambient visible light.
NPN dark-on output, 5-24V DC supply
Output is NPN open-collector, dark-on switching mode — the transistor turns on when the light path is blocked. Maximum load current is 100 mA, enough to drive a small PLC input or a relay coil directly. Supply voltage range is 5-24V DC, so it works on standard 24V control systems or lower-voltage logic rails. The prewired 2 m cable (bare wire termination) saves wiring time in panel builds — no separate connector to source. The indicator LED on the body gives a quick visual on output state during commissioning or fault-finding.
IP64, PBT body, current production
CE and RU (Russia) approvals cover European and Eurasian markets. Operating temperature range is -13 °F to 131 °F.
