Omron EE-SX870A Through-Beam Sensor, U-Slot, 5mm, NPN

The Omron EE-SX870A is a compact U-slot through-beam photoelectric sensor from the SX87 series, designed for detecting small opaque objects at a fixed 5 mm gap. With a minimum object size of 2 mm x 0.8 mm, it targets precision position sensing in tight spaces — think flag detection on a pick-and-place arm or part-presence in a small assembly nest. The 0.17 ms response time and 3 kHz switching frequency keep pace with fast cycle times; your PLC input will need to handle NPN (sinking) logic, and the sensor is fixed in Light-On mode, so plan the interrupt logic accordingly.
