The Schneider Electric A9D07216 is an Acti9 iC60 RCBO — a combined residual-current circuit breaker with overcurrent protection, in a 2-pole, 16 A, C-curve configuration with 30 mA earth-leakage sensitivity. It integrates thermal-magnetic overcurrent trip and earth-leakage detection in a single 36 mm wide unit that clips onto a DIN rail, saving panel space over separate MCB and RCCD devices. The C-curve (magnetic trip 5...10 x In) suits it for inductive loads like small motors, pumps, and lighting where inrush currents are moderate.
Rated breaking capacity Icn is 10 kA at 220...240 V AC, 50 Hz per EN/IEC 61009-2-1, with an ultimate breaking capacity Icu of 15 kA at the same voltage per EN/IEC 60947-2. That extra Icu headroom means the device can interrupt a higher fault current once without needing replacement, useful in installations with upstream transformers or high prospective fault levels. For selectivity coordination with an upstream device, the 15 kA Icu gives you a wider window to achieve full discrimination.
Mounting and wiring in the panel
Tunnel terminals accept 1...35 mm² rigid or 1...25 mm² flexible cable; strip length 12 mm, tighten to 2 N·m. The 9 mm pole pitch matches standard Acti9 busbar systems for daisy-chaining outgoing circuits on the same phase. IP20 rated for finger-safe wiring; IP40 when enclosed in a distribution board. Local signalling shows ON, OFF, and fault-trip status through the toggle position — useful for fast fault isolation on a crowded rail.
