It carries a 40 A rated current at 50 °C and a 10 kA breaking capacity (Icn) at 230 V AC, 50/60 Hz, which means it can safely interrupt a fault current up to 10,000 A without welding its contacts or cascading damage upstream. The 100 mA earth leakage sensitivity is sized for circuits where a lower 30 mA threshold would cause nuisance tripping — typically distribution sub-mains, lighting circuits, or equipment with natural leakage. This is a 1P+N device — it switches the live pole and monitors the neutral for leakage, but does not disconnect the neutral on overcurrent. The clip-on mounting snaps onto standard DIN rail, occupying 2 × 9 mm pitches (18 mm total width).
The RCBO is certified to BS EN 61009-1, the harmonized standard for residual current operated circuit breakers with integral overcurrent protection. It is rated for TN earthing systems and is suitable for isolation — the contact position indicator confirms the state of the main contacts. The device is tropicalised (class 2) for use in high-humidity environments up to 95% RH at 55 °C.
