The Schneider BMECRD0100 is the Ethernet RIO drop adaptor for a Modicon X80 remote rack in an EcoStruxure Automation Expert distributed PAC system. It handles ring-topology communications at 10/100 Mbit/s over two Ethernet ports — one for the main network, one for the RIO ring (RSTP). Powers off 24 V DC and draws 295 mA from the backplane. Occupies a double slot — 64 mm wide, 131 mm deep and tall — so plan for that width in the rack layout. IP20 rating suits a clean indoor cabinet.
Rack-mounted, secured by screws. Requires SoftdPAC firmware installed on the host PAC. Local signalling includes RUN, I/O error, module status, network status, download-in-progress, and cybersecurity LEDs — useful for commissioning and fault finding. Supports EtherNet/IP adapter mode, RSTP ring, QoS, DHCP, TFTP, FTP, FDR, and NTP clients. Functionally, collects input data and publishes it to the remote I/O head adaptor, updates output modules, and provides system time stamping for the I/O extension rack. Operates in standard environment from 0 to 60 °C ambient, with storage range -40 to 85 °C.
