RCCB for group incomer duty
The Schneider Electric A9KR14240BQ is a 2-pole residual current circuit breaker (RCCB) from the Acti9 ID K series, rated at 40 A continuous current with a 300 mA Type AC earth-leakage sensitivity. It operates at 220-240 V AC, 50 Hz, and is designed for group incomer positions in distribution boards. The voltage-independent residual current tripping technology means it detects leakage faults without relying on the supply voltage — a useful characteristic for installations where the neutral-to-earth voltage may be unstable.
Clip-on mounting to DIN rail, 36 mm width (4 x 9 mm pitches), 81 mm height, 68 mm depth. Terminals accept 1-35 mm² rigid or 1-25 mm² flexible conductors, with a stripping length of 14 mm and tightening torque of 3.5 N·m. IP20 on the device body; IP40 when enclosed in a modular enclosure per IEC 60529.
Compliant with IS 12640-1, EN/IEC 61008-1, and EN/IEC 61008-2-1. Pollution degree 2, tropicalisation class 2 per IEC 60068-1 (95 % RH at 55 °C). Storage temperature range -25 to 85 °C.
Electrical endurance and fault capacity
Rated breaking and making capacity: Idm 500 A, Im 500 A. Electrical durability 4000 cycles under AC-1 conditions; mechanical durability 5000 cycles. The 8/20 µs impulse withstand is rated at 200 A per EN/IEC 61008-1. Earth-leakage protection is instantaneous — no intentional time delay.
