What it is and what it does
The Schneider Electric A9N3P32CGN is an Acti9 xC60 miniature circuit breaker — a thermal-magnetic MCB for AC distribution in commercial and light industrial panels. Rated 32 A on a 3-pole (3P) body, it clips onto a 35 mm DIN rail and occupies 6 x 9 mm pitches (54 mm wide). The C-curve trips magnetically between 5 and 10 times rated current — the standard choice for mixed resistive and moderate inductive loads (lighting, small motors, general socket circuits) where inrush is higher than a B-curve allows but lower than a D-curve needs. Breaking capacity is 10 kA Icn at both 240 V and 415 V AC, certified to IS/IEC 60898-1. That means it can safely interrupt a fault up to 10 kA without welding contacts or rupturing the case — sufficient for most secondary distribution boards fed by a transformer with typical source impedance.
Integration and panel fit
Clip-on mounting on a 35 mm DIN rail — standard for any IEC enclosure. The 54 mm width (3P) and 77.5 mm depth fit alongside other Acti9 devices without spacing issues. Terminals accept up to 35 mm² rigid or 25 mm² flexible; the biconnect bottom terminal allows daisy-chaining busbars or outgoing cables. Tightening torque is 3.5 N·m. Rated operational voltage covers 220–240 V and 380–415 V AC, 50/60 Hz — single-phase or three-phase networks. Pollution degree 3 and overvoltage category IV suit it for main panel incoming positions, not just sub-distribution. IP20 finger-safe terminals; the toggle provides ON/OFF indication. Tropicalisation class 2 per IEC 60068-1 means it handles 95 % RH at 55 °C — fine for unventilated enclosures in humid environments.
