Arc-fault detection device for final circuits
Rated 13 A with a B-curve trip characteristic, it breaks up to 6 kA Icn (IEC 61009-2-1) and 10 kA Icu (IEC 60947-2) at 230 V AC, 50 Hz. The thermal-magnetic trip unit handles overload and short-circuit events; the arc-fault detection circuit monitors for series and parallel arcs, tripping the internal contactor when an arc signature is identified. Local signalling includes ON, OFF, and a fault-trip LED plus an arc-fault diagnostic indicator.
The 13 A rated current and B curve mean this device is sized for residential or light-commercial final circuits supplying socket outlets or lighting — B-curve magnetic release (3–5× In) avoids nuisance tripping on inrush from small motors or capacitive loads. The 6 kA Icn service breaking capacity is the standard for domestic distribution boards; the 10 kA Icu ultimate capacity gives headroom for fault currents at the origin of a sub-distribution board. Limitation class 3 means the device limits let-through energy to a low level, aiding downstream coordination. The 1P+N pole arrangement switches the phase and disconnects the neutral, but the neutral is not protected — it is switched only.
Neutral position is left. The white (RAL 9003) housing matches standard Acti9 enclosures. Pollution degree 2 per EN/IEC 62606 — suitable for normal indoor environments. Tropicalisation severity B per IEC 60068-2-30 for 28 days covers high-humidity installations (95% RH at 55 °C).
