The Schneider Electric A9Z15491 is a 4-pole (4P) Acti9 iID residual current circuit breaker (RCCB) rated for 100 A continuous current at 380–415 V AC, 50/60 Hz. The selective (time-delay) characteristic provides coordination with downstream 30 mA RCCBs, preventing nuisance tripping on transient leakage while still clearing a sustained fault within the standard disconnection time. Rated breaking and making capacity is 1500 A (Idm/Im), and the conditional short-circuit current withstand is 10 kA — adequate for most commercial and industrial sub-distribution boards where the upstream protective device limits prospective fault current. The voltage-independent tripping technology means the RCCB detects leakage even if the phase voltage collapses, a critical safety feature for earth faults that pull down the supply.
The white housing carries a toggle control and a contact-position indicator. Terminals accept double conductors up to 35 mm² rigid (front) or 25 mm² flexible, with a stripping length of 14 mm and tightening torque of 3.5 N·m. IP20 finger-safe terminals; IP40 within a modular enclosure — standard for panel mounting in dry indoor switchboards.
Electrical durability is 10,000 cycles under AC-1 (resistive load); mechanical durability is 20,000 cycles. The padlocking device provision allows lockout/tagout for maintenance isolation.
