The A9Z26480 is a Schneider Electric Acti9 iID 4-pole residual current circuit breaker (RCCB) rated at 80 A with 500 mA earth-leakage sensitivity. The instantaneous trip (no intentional time delay) means it clears a ground fault within the natural operating time of the RCCB mechanism, so it is suited for final-circuit protection rather than selective coordination with upstream delayed RCDs. The rated conditional short-circuit current is 10 kA — this is the prospective fault current the RCCB can withstand when backed by an upstream overcurrent protective device (typically a MCB or fuse rated at or below the SCCR). For a panel feeding a 10 kA fault level at the point of installation, this RCCB is within its rated capacity; above that level, coordination with a current-limiting device is required. The 4P configuration (four poles switched, neutral left) makes this unit suitable for three-phase four-wire systems where all live conductors including the neutral are disconnected on a fault. The clip-on DIN-rail mount and 72 mm width (8 x 9 mm pitches) fit standard distribution-board profiles; the white housing is the Acti9 family colour.
Deployment context
IP20 and IP40 ratings apply. Pollution degree 3 rating. Rated impulse withstand voltage of 6 kV and insulation voltage of 500 V AC.
Designed and certified to EN/IEC 61008-1 and EN/IEC 61008-2-1, the governing standards for residual current operated circuit-breakers without integral overcurrent protection for household and similar uses. The 8/20 µs impulse withstand of 250 A confirms electromagnetic compatibility with typical surge events on the mains supply.
