The ATS48D47YS338 is a Schneider Altistart 48 soft starter for asynchronous motors, rated at 11 kW and 690 V AC supply. The unit integrates Modbus communication over an RS-485 multidrop interface via a single RJ45 connector.

This soft starter controls motor acceleration and deceleration by ramping voltage, reducing inrush current and mechanical stress. It offers five discrete inputs (Stop, Run, LI3, LI4) with positive logic — state 0 below 5 V and 2 mA, state 1 above 11 V and 5 mA — plus a PTC input for motor thermal protection (750 Ω at 25 °C, trip at 4300 Ω). Two discrete logic outputs (LO1, LO2) and three relay outputs (fault, end-of-starting, motor powered) provide status feedback. The Modbus port supports baud rates of 4800, 9600, or 19200 bps, suiting integration with PLCs and SCADA systems.
