11 kW VFD for 200-240 V three-phase lines
The ATV21HD11M3X is a 11 kW Altivar 21 variable frequency drive designed for 200-240 V three-phase input, pulling 34.4 A at 240 V and 42.1 A at 200 V line current. Rated apparent power is 17.6 kVA at 240 V, and the drive delivers a transient overtorque of 120% of nominal motor torque for 60 seconds — enough to handle short-duration load spikes on pumps or fans.
Switching frequency and derating
The adjustable switching frequency range is 6-16 kHz, with a derating factor applied above 12 kHz. Running at 16 kHz quiets motor whine but reduces the continuous output current — plan the thermal budget around the derating curve. The drive measures 13.0 x 9.6 x 7.5 inches (329.5 x 245 x 190 mm) and mounts vertically with a heat sink.
Fieldbus and communication options
The drive includes a 2-wire RS-485 physical interface with RTU transmission frame, configurable at 9600 or 19200 bps. Addressing supports 1-247 nodes on the bus. Optional communication cards add APOGEE FLN, BACnet, LonWorks, or METASYS N2 protocols — useful for building management system integration.
Standards and compliance
The ATV21HD11M3X carries CE marking and complies with IEC 61800-5-1 (safety) and IEC 61800-3 (EMC) for environments 1 and 2, categories C1 through C3. The pollution degree is 2 per IEC 61800-5-1. Dielectric strength is 2830 V DC between earth and power terminals, and 4230 V DC between control and power terminals. Operating altitude is limited to 2000 m for corner-grounded distribution networks.
