The ATV630U30M3 variable speed drive from the Altivar Process ATV600 range runs on a 200-240 V supply and is rated for 3 hp heavy duty (2.2 kW) or 4 hp normal duty (3 kW). Continuous output current sits at 13.7 A at 4 kHz for normal duty, 11.2 A for heavy duty – that's the thermal ceiling you design to. It's CE marked, standard variant, and shipped without an EMC filter, so plan on adding external filtering if the installation falls under IEC 61800-3 environment 1 category C2.

Mounting and cooling

Wall mount only, vertical within 10°. Forced convection needs 38 m³/h of free air – don't box it in without a fan. At altitudes above 1000 m, derate output current 1% per 100 m up to 4800 m. Shock rated 15 gn, 11 ms; vibration 1.5 mm pk-pk at 2–13 Hz, 1 gn at 13–200 Hz.

Comes with Modbus serial and Modbus TCP/Ethernet onboard. Slot A accepts optional Profibus DP, PROFINET, DeviceNet, CANopen, or Ethernet IP modules. Eight digital inputs, one configurable as a 0-30 kHz pulse input. A built-in PID regulator handles closed-loop control without an external controller.
