Drive at a glance
The ATV630U40Y6: This is a current-production ATV630, the process-drive line from Schneider. Rated for 500–690 V supply, 3 kW heavy duty (4 kW normal duty) for asynchronous or synchronous motors. The standard version carries an integrated C3 EMC filter good for 25 m cable runs, STO SIL 3, and the usual Modbus TCP/Modbus serial/Ethernet comms onboard. Slot A opens up for Profibus, PROFINET, DeviceNet, or CANopen if the job needs it.
Wall-mount, vertical ±10°, forced convection cooling. IP00 as shipped; IP20 with the VW3A9705 kit. Power consumption? Line current around 6.2 A at 500 V normal duty; heavy duty pulls 4.7 A. Altitude derating starts at 1000 m – 1 % per 100 m. Vibration resistance 1.5 mm peak to peak from 2–13 Hz, 1 gn from 13–200 Hz. Shock rated 15 gn for 11 ms.
Sourcing reality
This drive is active and widely available – no last-time-buy scramble. Because it's a standard version with common comms, it turns fast in the surplus market too. If you're pulling one from a plant closure lot, the integrated C3 filter and STO make it a quick resell to panel shops doing pump or fan retrofits. No pin-compatible substitute because drives are sized to motor kW, but the ATV630 family shares the same footprint across the power range – so a 4 kW unit will bolt into the same panel cutout if the load changes later.
