The ATV650U22N4EU is a current-production Altivar Process ATV650 variable speed drive rated for 2.2 kW normal duty (1.5 kW heavy duty) on a 380–480 V three-phase supply. Its continuous output current is 5.6 A normal duty (4 A heavy duty) at a 4 kHz switching frequency. The drive covers both asynchronous and synchronous motors. This variant includes an integrated disconnect switch, saving panel space and wiring time. The IP55 enclosure (UL type 12) and wall-mount design suit it for washdown areas and outdoor cabinets where dust and hose-directed water are present.

Onboard EMC filter supports motor cable lengths up to 50 m under IEC 61800-3 category C2 and up to 150 m under category C3. Safety torque off (STO) is built in at SIL 3, meeting IEC 61800-5-2. No external safety relay is needed for controlled stop in most automation cells. The drive also carries standard EMC immunity levels per IEC 61000-4 (level 3 for radiated/conducted, level 4 for fast transient).

Communication is via onboard Ethernet Modbus TCP. Slot A accepts option cards for PROFINET, DeviceNet, EtherNet/IP, CANopen, or Profibus DP. Two slots (A and B) allow a relay extension or I/O expansion alongside a fieldbus card. The terminal block provides 8 digital inputs, with two configurable as high-speed pulse inputs up to 30 kHz.
