Lexium 18 servo motor with holding brake
The BEH18LH1033CF6C is a 1 kW servo motor from the Schneider Electric Lexium 18 range, built for single-phase 220 V supply and delivering 3.18 N.m nominal torque at 3000 rpm. It includes a holding brake rated at 8 N.m, which keeps the load locked when the drive is off — critical for vertical-axis applications where the load must not drift. The 23-bit optic multi-turn encoder gives absolute position feedback over multiple revolutions, so homing on power-up is unnecessary for most cyclic or indexing moves.
Mechanical fit and mounting constraints
IP67 protection means the motor body and shaft seal withstand washdown — suitable for food processing or wet environments where hose-down cleaning is routine.
Electrical and thermal limits
Continuous stall current is 6.25 A, with a maximum RMS current of 18.75 A at 1 kW; the torque constant is 0.51 N.m/A at 40 °C, so the current draw scales linearly with load torque. Peak stall torque reaches 9.54 N.m at 220 V single phase — useful for short-duration acceleration or overcoming static friction, but the continuous stall torque is 3.18 N.m. Back EMF constant is 34 V/krpm at 40 °C, which sets the bus voltage headroom needed at top speed; the 10-pole design keeps the motor compact while delivering smooth low-speed torque.
