What the 4 kW rating means for a motion axis
The BEH18LM4033CF6D delivers 4 kW continuous output power at 380 V three-phase, with a nominal speed of 3000 rpm and nominal torque of 12.6 Nm. That torque rating holds at the continuous stall condition too — same 12.6 Nm at zero speed, so the motor can hold position under load without overheating. Peak stall torque reaches 37.8 Nm at 380 V, with a maximum current draw of 38.88 A. The torque constant is 0.9722 Nm/A at 40 °C, which lets you estimate current draw for any torque demand below the peak.
Brake and encoder — what holds and what tracks
The integrated holding brake delivers 16 Nm holding torque — enough to secure a vertical axis or a conveyor load when power is removed. The motor ships with the brake engaged; the drive must release it before the first move. Feedback comes from a 23-bit optic multi-turn encoder. The multi-turn count tracks absolute position over multiple shaft revolutions, so the axis does not need a home cycle after a power loss — the drive reads the position directly at power-up.
Mounting and environmental fit
The motor uses an Asian standard flange with a 130 mm flange size and 9 mm mounting holes. The shaft is 28 mm diameter with a parallel key, 63 mm shaft length, and the key width is 8 mm. Overall dimensions: 130 mm wide, 174.5 mm tall, 261.9 mm deep. IP67 rating means the motor body and the connector interface are sealed against dust and temporary immersion — suitable for washdown environments in food processing or packaging lines. Cooling is air-cooled, so keep the fin area clear of debris.
