Lexium 18 servo motor with integrated holding brake
The BEH18MM0813MF6D is a Schneider Electric Lexium 18 servo motor delivering 850 W continuous power at 1500 rpm nominal speed (380 V three-phase). This is the variant with a holding brake — 16.0 N.m holding torque — so it holds the load on power loss without an external brake resistor or mechanical lock. The 17-bit magnetic multi-turn encoder provides absolute position feedback over 131,072 counts per revolution, tracking position through power cycles without a home sequence. For a commissioning engineer, this means the axis retains its reference after a controlled shutdown — no re-referencing on restart.
Torque, inertia, and load-matching constraints
The torque constant is 1.706 N.m/A at 40 °C, and the back EMF constant is 108.1 V/krpm at 40 °C. These numbers matter for drive sizing: the continuous stall current of 3.16 A and maximum permanent current of 9.48 A define the drive's continuous and peak current requirements.
IP67 and mechanical interface for washdown environments
The Asian standard flange (130 mm flange size) uses four mounting holes and accepts a parallel key shaft (22 mm diameter, 58 mm shaft length). Maximum axial force is 196 N and maximum radial force is 686 N — these are the bearing load limits for overhung pulley or gearbox mounting. Exceeding them reduces bearing life or causes shaft deflection that degrades encoder accuracy.
