1 kW servo motor with holding brake — Lexium 18 family
The BEH18MM1023CF6D is a 1 kW servo motor from the Schneider Electric Lexium 18 range, fitted with a holding brake and a 23-bit optic multi-turn encoder. It delivers 4.77 N.m nominal torque at 2000 rpm on a 380 V three-phase supply, with a peak stall torque of 14.31 N.m for short-duration overloads. The holding brake holds 16.0 N.m static torque, keeping the load position when power is removed — a critical spare for Z-axis or vertical-axis applications where the load must not drift on power loss.
Encoder feedback and mounting — 23-bit multi-turn, Asian flange
The optic multi-turn encoder provides 23-bit absolute position feedback, eliminating the need for a home cycle after power-up on most drives. The motor flange is the Asian standard 130 mm pattern with four mounting holes, matching common servo interfaces in packaging, textile, and material-handling machinery. The shaft is 22 mm diameter with a 58 mm length and an 8.0 mm parallel key. Maximum radial force on the shaft is 686 N, and maximum axial force is 196 N — stay within these limits when selecting the coupling or pulley to avoid bearing damage.
IP67 enclosure and air cooling — washdown-ready
Rated IP67, the motor body and connector seal withstands washdown with hosed water — suitable for food-and-beverage lines or wet environments. Cooling is air-cooled via the motor's own fan or external airflow; the IP67 rating does not rely on the cooling fan seal.
Electrical connection and current limits
Connection is via two male/female connectors — one for power, one for feedback. The continuous stall current is 2.8 A; maximum permanent current is 8.39 A at 1 kW and 380 V. The torque constant is 1.704 N.m/A at 40 °C, and the back EMF constant is 108.1 V/krpm — use these values when setting current limits and velocity loop gains in the drive.
