2.4 kW servo with integrated holding brake
The BEH18MR2413MF6D is a current-production Lexium 18 servo motor with a holding brake, rated 2.4 kW nominal output power at 380 V three-phase. It delivers 15.28 Nm nominal torque and 50 Nm holding torque, with a nominal speed of 1500 rpm and a maximum mechanical speed of 3000 rpm. The integrated holding brake (50 Nm) holds the load at standstill without power to the motor windings — critical for vertical-axis applications where the load must not drift when the drive is disabled.
IP67 enclosure and encoder feedback
IP67 protection means the motor body and connector interface withstand washdown environments — suitable for food-and-bev, packaging, or outdoor conveyor lines where hose-down cleaning is routine. The 17-bit magnetic multi-turn encoder provides absolute position feedback over multiple shaft revolutions, eliminating the need for a home cycle after power loss. This encoder type is less sensitive to contamination than optical encoders, a practical advantage in dusty or humid conditions.
Flange, shaft, and mechanical limits
The motor uses an Asian standard flange with a 180 mm flange size and four mounting holes. The 35 mm diameter shaft with a parallel key (10.0 mm key width) and 79 mm shaft length matches common coupling and pulley interfaces for this frame size. Maximum radial force is 1470 N and maximum axial force is 490 N — these set the bearing load limits for belt-drive or direct-coupling applications. Exceeding these forces shortens bearing life regardless of the motor's torque capability.
Electrical and thermal ratings
Continuous stall current is 8.49 A; maximum permanent current is 25.48 A at 2.4 kW, 380 V. The torque constant is 1.8 Nm/A at 40 °C, and the back EMF constant is 118.69 V/krpm at 40 °C — these values let the drive calculate the motor model for field-oriented control. Peak stall torque is 45.84 Nm at 380 V, giving a 3:1 peak-to-continuous torque ratio for acceleration and deceleration transients. The 10-pole motor design contributes to smooth low-speed torque ripple.
