Overview
The BMI0702P22F is a Schneider BMI-series three-phase servo motor, rated 400 W output with 2.48 Nm torque at 480 V, 60 Hz. It includes an integrated holding brake and an absolute multiturn SinCos Hiperface feedback encoder providing 131072 points per turn over 4096 turns. The motor is rated IP65, uses natural convection cooling, and mounts via an international standard flange. It is compatible with Lexium 32i drive control units (LXM32i CANopen, LXM32i EtherCAT).
Versus the BMI0702P26F, the BMI0702P22F carries a higher-resolution absolute multiturn SinCos Hiperface encoder (131072 points/turn x 4096 turns vs 32768 points/turn single-turn). This provides finer position feedback over multiple rotations, suited for applications requiring absolute position retention across a full travel range. Compared to the BMI0702P27A, the BMI0702P22F includes a holding brake (BMI0702P27A does not). Rotor inertia is 1.24 kg.cm²; the brake adds holding torque for vertical-axis loads but increases the reflected inertia the drive must manage during deceleration.
Selection notes
The IP65 rating covers the motor body and encoder connector, permitting washdown exposure in food or beverage environments. Maximum radial force (Fr) derates with speed: 710 N at 1000 rpm, 560 N at 2000 rpm, 490 N at 3000 rpm, 450 N at 4000 rpm, 410 N at 5000 rpm, 390 N at 6000 rpm. Axial force (Fa) is limited to 0.2 x Fr.
