Key specs and application fit
The Bosch Rexroth BMI0702P26A is a three-phase servo motor in the BMI series, delivering 400 W at 208 V up to 900 W at 480 V with natural convection cooling. Its 10-pole design with two stacks produces nominal torque from 2.0 to 2.4 N·m depending on supply voltage. The IP65 enclosure handles washdown environments in food, beverage, and packaging lines without needing an additional housing. Feedback is an absolute single-turn SinCos Hiperface encoder, so the drive knows rotor position immediately on power-up — no homing sequence needed. That suits indexing and pick-and-place applications where lost position on a power cycle costs a cycle.
Installation and cooling
Cooled by natural convection only — no external fan or liquid circuit. For applications with continuous duty, verify that the combination of torque and speed stays within the natural-convection thermal limit; the continuous stall current of 2 A at 2.48 N·m gives a baseline for heat rise. Mounting is via an international standard flange (70 mm flange size, 60 mm centring collar, 11 mm shaft with 23 mm length). The printed circuit board connector simplifies harness routing in compact cabinets. Integrated EMC filter reduces conducted emissions, so the motor often passes CE without an external filter.
