Motor and feedback specifications
The Schneider Electric BMI1003P37A is a 100 mm flange servo motor in the BMI series, a 3-phase unit with integrated absolute multiturn SinCos Hiperface feedback and an EMC filter. Per the manufacturer's spec, the stator resistance at 20 °C is 2.31 ohms and inductance is 11.43 mH, defining the electrical time constant for drive tuning. The torque constant at 20 °C is 1.7 N.m/A, and the back EMF constant is 112 V/krpm at 20 °C – both critical for matching the motor to the drive's current and bus voltage. Continuous stall torque is 8.5 N.m across 208...480 V three-phase; peak stall torque is 19.2 N.m at any of those voltages. Cooling is natural convection; IP65 rated. Nominal speed and power depend on supply voltage: 1500 rpm / 1000 W at 208 V, 3000 rpm / 2000 W at 400 V, and 3700 rpm / 2100 W at 480 V. Maximum current (rms) is 26.7 A for all voltage settings.
Mounting and mechanical integration
Motor flange size is 100 mm (international standard flange), centring collar diameter 95 mm with depth 3.5 mm, and mounting holes 9 mm diameter – four on the flange face. The shaft diameter is 19 mm, keyed width 6 mm, shaft length 40 mm. No second shaft end and no holding brake. The EMC filter is integrated, reducing the need for an external filter on the motor cable. The motor is supplied with natural convection cooling, so ensure unobstructed airflow around the housing.
