Integrator’s snapshot – 8 AC inputs for 100-120 V, isolated per channel
The BMXDAI0814 is an 8-input module on the Modicon X80 backplane, accepting 100 to 120 V AC across isolated channels. Each input sinks 5 mA with positive logic, and the module draws up to 112 mA from the 3.3 V DC bus — the typical draw is 61 mA DC. The 86 mm depth and 32 mm width fit standard X80 rack slots; the IP20 housing keeps it inside an enclosed panel for pollution degree 2 environments. Response times are 10 ms activation and 20 ms deactivation for AC inputs.
Lifecycle and compliance – active now, globally approved
It carries CE, UKCA, cULus, EAC, and RCM marks, complying with IEC 61131-2 and the 2014/35/EU and 2014/30/EU directives. The dielectric strength is 1780 V AC for one minute, shared between channel-to-channel and channel-to-bus isolation.
Wiring and mounting – panel-wireman notes
Mount one module per X80 rack slot; verify the backplane can supply the 3.3 V current budget (112 mA max, 61 mA typical). Use 2- or 3-wire input connections; protect each channel with an external 0.25 A fast-blow fuse. The sensor supply range is 85 to 132 V AC. Pollution degree 2 means normally dry, non-conductive grime — avoid condensing humidity (5–95% RH at 55 °C non-condensing). For altitudes above 2000 m, derate per the installation manual up to 5000 m.
