Product details

What this module does, and what it doesn't hide

The BMXDAI1604H: Sixteen channels of 100-120 VAC discrete input on a Modicon X80 backplane. Sink logic, so blue leg on the sensor common. That conformal coating means it shrugs off condensation and mild corrosive gas — gas resistance class 3C4, dust 3S4, salt level 2. No sealed unit here; you can mount this in a panel on a rooftop chiller or a washdown station and it'll hold up. Response times are workable: 10 ms on, 20 ms off. No screaming-fast interrupt, but for standard 50/60 Hz sensor read it's fine.

Still in current production — no LTB clock ticking

Compliance paperwork is solid: CE, UKCA, CULus, EAC, RCM. IEC 61131-2, low-voltage and EMC directives. If your third-party inspection needs a UL file number or an EAC declaration, confirm with your Schneider rep — the markings are all there.

Wiring and protection — field-service notes

Each group of inputs needs one external 0.5 A fast-blow fuse on the field side. Not built in, so plan for a fuse terminal block per group in the panel. That's it for per-channel protection — no internal share-burning worries. Wiring is 2- or 3-wire to the sensor. Positive logic (sink). Voltage detection thresholds: under 40 VAC it flags a sensor fault, above 82 VAC it's good. That gives you a clean window for detecting open-wire or shorted sensor without a separate diagnostic card. Status LEDs: one green RUN for module OK, one green per channel, one red ERR and one red I/O for module faults. If you're on a ladder with a headlamp, you can check channel health at a glance.
