Module overview
The Schneider BMXDAI1615H is a 16-channel discrete input module for the Modicon X80 rack. Each input is isolated and accepts 200-240 V AC, positive logic (sink) wiring. It sits in a standard X80 slot and pulls ≤126 mA from the 3.3 V backplane rail. Rated for industrial applications in severe environments, the module carries conformal coating and meets gas, dust, sand, salt, and mold resistance classes per IEC 61131-2.
Input characteristics
State 1 guaranteed at ≥164 V AC; state 0 at <80 V AC for sensor fault detection. Input current is 3 mA at 200-240 V AC. Turn-on time is 10 ms, turn-off 20 ms. Channel-to-channel and channel-to-bus isolation is rated at 1780 Vrms for 1 minute. The module also provides a sensor power supply output rated 170-264 V AC.
Environmental resilience
Operates at 0-2000 m altitude without derating, 2000-5000 m with derating. Shock resistance 30 gn, vibration 3 gn. Temperature range -25 to 70 °C with 5-95% RH non-condensing, storage -40 to 85 °C. MTBF 3700000 H. Pollution degree 2. IP20 enclosure.
Diagnostics and compliance
Front-panel LEDs report module run (green per channel), module error (red), and I/O fault (red). This speeds commissioning and line-down troubleshooting. Marked CE, UKCA, CULus, EAC, RCM. Manufactured under IEC 61131-2. Conformal coating adds reliability in humid or chemically aggressive atmospheres.
