Module overview and wiring constraints
The BMXDDM16025 is an 8-input / 8-output Modicon X80 slice. Inputs are current sink (logic positive) at 24 V DC, drawing 3.5 mA per channel. They accept 2-wire or 3-wire proximity sensors per IEC 60947-5-2 and IEC 61131-2 type 3. Outputs are relay, rated 2 A at 24...240 V AC or 19...30 V DC. The switching frequency is limited to 1 Hz – no high-speed pulse trains from these relay contacts.
Compliance and environmental limits
The module carries CE marking under 2014/35/EU (low voltage) and 2014/30/EU (EMC) directives – that's the documentation you'll attach to the machine declaration. MTBF is 940,000 hours, a solid figure for continuous operation. Ambient operating range is 0...60 °C, storage -40...85 °C. IP20 means install it inside a rated enclosure. Shock resistance is 30 gn, vibration 3 gn. Above 2000 m altitude, derating applies.
Protection and wiring notes
Each group of inputs needs an external 0.5 A fast-blow fuse plus reverse polarity protection. Output relays require external fusing per channel or group. Use shielded cable for long sensor runs – the module itself provides no galvanic isolation between input groups.
