The BMXDRC0805 is a Modicon X80 relay output module from Schneider Electric with eight discrete outputs conforming to IEC 61131-2. It covers both AC and DC loads across 5...150 V DC and 24...240 V AC, making it a single SKU for mixed-voltage cabinets in an X80 rack. Thermal rating is 4 A at 40 °C, derated to 3 A at 50 °C and 2 A at 60 °C — factor that into slot loading if the rack runs warm. The module draws 101 mA at 24 V DC and dissipates 3.6 W. Protection is external: each output needs a fast-blow fuse for short-circuit and overload. For inductive DC loads, add a flyback diode per channel; for AC, an RC snubber or ZNO varistor. The module has no internal suppression, so a missing snubber will kill the relay contacts early. Deactivation time is 13 ms — that's the interval from coil drop to contact open. Not for fast-switching inductive loads where arcing time matters; but fine for general on/off of solenoids, contactors, and lamps.
Electrical durability and sourcing
Lifecycle stage is current and product status is Active. The BOM line is stable. Electrical durability varies widely with load. For AC-15 control circuits, expect 1,000,000 cycles at 10 VA / 100...120 V, but only 150,000 cycles at 220 VA. On DC-13 at 24 V, 100,000 cycles at 10 W, dropping to 40,000 cycles at 48 W. Match the duty class in the durability table to your actual load VA for realistic life planning.
