DC photovoltaic circuit breaker – Schneider ComPacT NSX DC PV, 80 A, 10 kA
The C10F4TM080D1 is a 4-pole fixed-mount circuit breaker from Schneider Electric's ComPacT NSX DC PV range, designed specifically for photovoltaic DC circuits. It carries a rated current of 80 A at 40 °C and a breaking capacity of 10 kA Icu at 1000 V DC with four poles in series, per IEC 60947-2.
The 80 A thermal-magnetic TM-DC trip unit provides LI protection: thermal for overload (L), magnetic for short-circuit (I). The magnetic threshold is fixed; the thermal element is calibrated for DC current, so it tracks I²t heating in the conductors. Rated insulation voltage (Ui) is 1000 V DC, matching the operational voltage (Ue) — the breaker is fully rated for ungrounded DC systems up to 1000 V.

This breaker is intended for photovoltaic DC applications: string combiner boxes, inverter DC inputs, and array-level isolation. It mounts on a backplate (DIN rail is not supported — fixed mounting only) and accepts front-connect wiring from both line and load sides. The 35 mm connection pitch allows standard busbar or cable lug termination. IP40 enclosure protection (IK07 impact) means it's splash-proof from solid objects >1 mm but not water jets — suitable for indoor or protected outdoor enclosures, not direct washdown.
