The C163MG160D is a TM-G thermal-magnetic trip unit for the ComPacT NSX100...250 DC range, rated 160 A at 40 °C with a 750 V DC maximum operating voltage. It protects a 3-pole DC circuit (3D protected poles) with LI protection: thermal overload (L) via a fixed long-time delay and adjustable pick-up from 0.7 to 1 x In, plus magnetic short-circuit (I) with a fixed instantaneous pick-up of 530 A. The trip unit is designed specifically for generator applications, per the device application field. Rated operational voltage of 750 V DC means this unit handles the higher DC bus voltages common in generator output circuits, UPS systems, and solar combiner boxes — not a standard 24 V or 48 V DC control circuit. The 530 A instantaneous magnetic trip (fixed, non-adjustable) clears hard faults fast, while the adjustable thermal element (0.7–1 x In) lets you dial in the continuous current threshold for the specific generator nameplate.
IP40 front face protection keeps tools and fingers out but is not washdown-rated. Electrical shock protection Class II — double-insulated, no earth connection required on the trip unit itself.
