What the ratings mean for your panel
The C16S2TM125 is a ComPacT NSX160S frame 2-pole MCCB with a TM-D thermal-magnetic trip unit rated 125 A at 40 °C. The S breaking capacity code means 70 kA Icu at 415 V AC — that's the fault current it can safely interrupt without welding contacts or rupturing the case, sized for high-fault distribution panels where upstream transformer capacity is substantial. At 240 V AC it delivers the full 100 kA Icu, so it also handles industrial service-entrance duty where the utility fault level is high. The thermal-magnetic trip (TM-D) gives two protection curves in one device: the thermal element handles overload protection (L) with an inverse-time characteristic that mimics cable heating, and the magnetic element provides instantaneous short-circuit protection (I) that clears bolted faults fast. No earth-leakage function built in — if you need that, add a Vigi module externally. Rated for isolation per EN/IEC 60947-2, so it can serve as a visible-break disconnect when locked off. Pollution degree 3 and overvoltage category III mean it's rated for industrial environments where conductive dust and switching transients are normal — not just clean commercial switchgear.
Mounting and integration
Fixed-mount backplate installation, 70 mm wide, 161 mm tall, 86 mm deep — fits standard panel cutouts for the NSX160S frame. Front connections both top and bottom, with a 35 mm connection pitch that matches busbar systems and lug kits. IP40 enclosure rating means it's protected against tools and wires >1 mm but not washdown; keep it inside a panel or enclosure. Mounts horizontally or vertically flat on the backplate — no derating required for orientation. Operating altitude up to 2000 m without derating; above that, up to 5000 m with derating applied per IEC 60947-2. Ambient humidity range 0–95 % non-condensing.
