The Schneider Electric C4042B400 is a MicroLogic 2.3 AB electronic trip unit for the ComPacT NSX400...630 range. It's rated 400 A at 40 °C, 4 poles (4D), and built to EN/IEC 60947-2. The LSoI protection package covers long-time overload (L), short-time short-circuit with fixed delay (So), and instantaneous short-circuit (I).

The short-time pickup (Isd) has nine adjustable settings from 1.5 to 10 x Ir — that's selectivity headroom for downstream breakers. Instantaneous (Ii) is fixed at 4800 A, which clears a hard fault fast. The thermal memory holds a 20-minute pre- and post-trip record, so re-energizing a hot circuit won't nuisance-trip on the second hit.

Mounts fixed in the ComPacT NSX400...630 breaker frame. Neutral position is left; neutral protection settings cover 3D + N/2, 4D, or 3D (no neutral protection). The pollution degree is 3 per IEC 60947-1, so it's fine for industrial panels with moderate conductive dust.
