Control relay for demanding control circuits
The Schneider Electric CAD32AR7 is a TeSys Deca control relay with a 3NO+2NC contact configuration, designed for switching control circuits per utilisation categories AC-15, AC-14, and DC-13. Its 440V AC standard coil and snap-in terminals suit panel integration where a compact 45 mm wide footprint is needed.
The AC-15 and DC-13 utilisation categories per EN/IEC 60947-5-1 mean this relay is rated for switching electromagnetic loads — solenoids, contactor coils, and similar inductive control devices — not just resistive loads. The 3NO+2NC pole composition gives you three normally-open and two normally-closed auxiliary contacts, a common count for controlling a contactor and signalling back its status. Front-face protection is IP2X per VDE 0106, meaning the relay is finger-safe from the front when mounted in an enclosure. Mechanical robustness is specified: the relay withstands 10 Gn shocks for 11 ms when open, 15 Gn when closed, and vibrations of 2 Gn (open) or 4 Gn (closed) across 5–300 Hz per IEC 60068-2-27 and -2-6. This matters for applications on mobile equipment or near rotating machinery where continuous vibration is present.
Protective treatment is TH conforming to IEC 60068, indicating the relay is treated for tropical heat and humidity conditions. The storage temperature range of -60 to 80 °C covers most warehouse and transit environments.
Snap-in terminals accept the wiring method typical for control circuits; verify the terminal marking matches your schematic before landing wires. Operating altitude is rated to 3000 m without derating. Above that, dielectric strength and thermal dissipation decrease, so factor that in for high-altitude installations.
