The EZCV250H44080 is a 4-pole molded case circuit breaker from Schneider Electric's EasyPact EZCV250H range, rated 80 A at 40 °C with a thermal-magnetic TM-D trip unit. Its breaking capacity is the headline: 25 kA Icu at 440 V AC (50/60 Hz) per IEC 60947-2. At 220–240 V it delivers 100 kA Icu, and at 380–415 V it delivers 36 kA Icu, so on a 400 V supply you have 36 kA available.
At 140 mm wide × 165 mm high × 68 mm deep, it occupies a compact footprint for a 4P 80 A MCCB — panel fill factor is manageable, and the IK07 impact rating (per EN 50102) means it survives a 2 J strike during cabinet wiring. IP20 finger-safe terminals are standard; no additional shrouding needed for the front panel.
Protection and trip unit
The TM-D thermal-magnetic trip unit provides overload protection (thermal bimetal) and short-circuit protection (magnetic solenoid). Earth-leakage protection is integrated — the 4t protected poles cover all four phases, but neutral protection is set to 'without protection' (the neutral pole is switched but not monitored for overcurrent). Mechanical durability is 10,000 cycles, typical for a distribution MCCB. The toggle control gives positive contact indication, so you know the contact state by handle position.
