The Schneider Electric GC10040B5 is a TeSys GC modular contactor — a 4-pole, 100 A rated operational current (AC-7A) device with a 24 V AC 50 Hz control coil, supplied as a set of two units. The 4 NO (normally open) power pole composition gives you four independent switching paths, each rated for the full 100 A. The coil pulls 106 VA inrush at 50 Hz and holds with 4.2 W dissipation at 50/60 Hz. Drop-out threshold is 0.2 to 0.75 Uc; pick-up requires 0.85 to 1.1 Uc. That means the contactor drops out reliably below about 18 V AC and pulls in cleanly above about 20.4 V AC — a wide enough margin to tolerate brownout conditions on a control transformer.
The contactor occupies 6 modules of 18 mm width (108 mm total), so plan for 108 mm of DIN rail per unit. Depth is 62.5 mm, height 85 mm. Screw-clamp terminals: power circuit accepts up to 1× 35 mm² or 2× 10 mm² solid; control circuit accepts up to 1× or 2× 2.5 mm² flexible. IP20 bare (finger-safe), IP40 when enclosed per VDE 0106. Mechanical robustness: survives 10 Gn shocks when open, 15 Gn when closed; vibration resistance is 2 Gn open, 3 Gn closed over 5–300 Hz.
