The Schneider Electric GS1K4 is a TeSys GS fuse switch disconnector body — a 4-pole, NFC-type unit rated for 125 A at 400 V AC-23A and 100 A at 690 V AC-23A with the terminal cover fitted. The AC-23A duty class means it is designed for occasional switching of motor loads and other highly inductive circuits, not continuous on-load making and breaking.
This body accepts 22 x 58 mm NFC fuses and mounts on a rail or plate. The power circuit terminates via bars or screw terminals accepting 35 to 95 mm² flexible cable, torqued to 12 N·m. An external right-side or frontal operating handle is required separately.
The GS1K4 is classified as obsolete by the manufacturer. If you are freezing a new design, the TeSys GS family has been superseded by the TeSys GV range; verify footprint and fuse accommodation before substituting.
The GS1K4 is designed and tested to IEC 60947-3 (switch-disconnectors), IEC 60269-2 (fuses for industrial applications), and IEC 60269-1 (general fuse requirements). The fuse cover passes the glow-wire test at 850 °C and the body at 960 °C per IEC 60695-2-1, confirming fire resistance for panel use. Insulation voltage is rated at 750 V AC, impulse withstand at 8 kV.
