30 A UL J Fuse Disconnect — Panel Fit and Ratings
The GS2EU3 is a 3-pole switch-disconnector-fuse from the TeSys GS range, rated 30 A operational current (Ie) with a conventional free-air thermal current (Ith) of 30 A at 40 °C. It accepts UL Class J fuses — the fuse size is J, so the fuse holder is sized for that blade footprint, not a generic midget or Class R. Short-circuit withstand is 17.6 kA, and the rated insulation voltage (Ui) is 750 V with an impulse withstand (Uimp) of 8 kV. That puts it in the range for 480 V panel feeder disconnects where the available fault current stays under 18 kA. Power ratings are 15 kW at 400 V, 18.5 kW at 500 V, and 25 kW at 690 V — these are the motor-load break capacities at those line voltages, not the thermal current limit. The 3 NO contacts switch the load; the external frontal handle gives a visible break position.
UL98 Compliance and Terminal Specs
Listed to UL98 and CSA C22.2 No 4 — that is the standard for enclosed and dead-front switches in North American panels. The body carries a 960 °C glow-wire fire resistance rating, so it meets the IEC 60695-2-11 hot-wire ignition test for unattended equipment. Power circuit terminals accept lug-ring wire from 2 to 13 mm² (roughly 14 AWG to 6 AWG). Tightening torque is 6.6 N·m (58.4 lbf·in) — a torque driver is needed; hand-tightening will not hold the lug under fault current. The terminal cover brings the assembly to IP20, meaning finger-safe but not sealed against moisture.
Durability and Environmental Range
Rated for 6,000 electrical cycles and 10,000 mechanical cycles — the electrical endurance is the binding number for frequent switching applications. Operating temperature spans -20 to 70 °C, storage from -40 to 80 °C, so it handles unheated enclosures in northern climates. Mounting is rail or plate — the 5.9 in width and 5.4 in height fit a standard 200 mm wide DIN rail section with room for a neutral bar alongside. Depth is 4.8 in, which clears most 6 in deep enclosures.
