200 A UL Switch-Disconnector-Fuse for Panel Builds
The GS2MU3 is a 3-pole switch-disconnector-fuse from the TeSys GS range, rated 200 A continuous at 600 V with a 32 kA short-circuit withstand rating. It accepts Class J fuses, making it a UL-listed (UL98, CSA C22.2 No 4) disconnecting means for motor branch circuits or feeder disconnects in industrial control panels. The 200 A conventional free-air thermal current (Ith) at 40 °C matches the rated operational current (Ie), so no derating is needed at typical panel ambient temperatures. The 1600 A breaking capacity at 400 V covers most downstream fault scenarios without upstream coordination changes.
Power Ratings and Interruption Capacity
Rated operational power reaches 100 kW at 400 V, 140 kW at 500 V, and 185 kW at 690 V AC — covering motor loads from 130 HP up to 250 HP depending on the supply voltage. The 8 kV rated impulse withstand voltage (Uimp) and 750 V rated insulation voltage (Ui) confirm it handles industrial distribution transients without flashover. Short-circuit making capacity (Icm) is 2 kA at 400 V, and the fuse size J holder limits let-through energy to the downstream conductors. The 6000-cycle electrical durability and 10,000-cycle mechanical durability suit daily switching in production lines, not just infrequent isolation.
Mounting and Wiring in the Panel
Mounts on a plate (not DIN rail) — the 7.7-inch square footprint (196 mm wide × 195 mm tall) and 5.1-inch depth (130 mm) fit standard enclosure backpanels. Power-circuit lugs accept ring terminals from 16 mm² to 152 mm² (0.02–0.2 in²), with a tightening torque of 8.5 N·m (75.2 lbf·in). IP20 protection with the terminal cover installed — finger-safe for the panel interior but not rated for washdown. The external frontal operating handle allows padlocking in the OFF position for lockout/tagout compliance.
