This is a non-reversing starter, meaning it drives a motor in one direction only — the standard arrangement for pumps, fans, and conveyors that don't need reversing. The thermal protection adjustment range is 2.5...4 A, so this unit is sized for small motors drawing that full-load current. The magnetic trip is fixed at 51 A, which clears short-circuit faults fast without nuisance tripping on normal starting inrush. Rated for AC-3 utilization category (IEC 60947-4-1), which covers starting and stopping squirrel-cage induction motors. The breaking capacity is 50 kA at 400/415 V, 440 V, and 500 V — that's the fault current it can safely interrupt without welding contacts or damaging the enclosure. Type 1 coordination means after a short circuit the starter may need contact replacement, but the rest of the panel stays live.
