The GV2DM120U7 is a direct-on-line combination starter from the TeSys Deca range — a single assembly that packages a motor circuit breaker (GV2ME type), a 3-pole contactor, and a combination block (GV2AF3) into one DIN-rail footprint. The thermal protection adjustment range is 13 to 18 A, and the magnetic trip is fixed at 223 A. For a 400/415 V AC supply, it handles 7.5 kW motor loads in AC-3 duty; at 440 V AC the rating rises to 9 kW, and at 500 V AC it also delivers 9 kW. The coil is wound for 240 V AC control.
Coordination and breaking capacity
This starter is configured for Type 1 coordination, meaning that after a short-circuit fault up to the rated breaking capacity the starter may need component replacement, but the installation remains safe and the short circuit is cleared. The rated breaking capacity (Iq) is 15 kA at 400/415 V, 8 kA at 440 V, and 6 kA at 500 V, all conforming to IEC 60947-4-1. For a panel builder, Type 1 is the standard choice when downstream damage is acceptable after a fault — it keeps the enclosure size smaller than Type 2 coordination.
Physical integration
The GV2DM120U7 occupies a 45 mm wide DIN-rail footprint, with a depth of 99.6 mm and a height of 176.4 mm. That 45 mm width is the same as a standard TeSys D contactor or GV2 breaker — it fits existing panel layouts without re-spacing. The combination block (GV2AF3) is pre-wired to the contactor and breaker, so the assembly arrives as one unit ready for line and load connections.
