What the 65 A rating means for fit
The GV3L651 is a 3-pole motor circuit breaker from the TeSys Deca range, rated 65 A continuous (Ith and In). That 65 A figure governs the conductor sizing upstream — match it to a 65 A-rated feeder or downstream contactor. The magnetic trip is fixed at 910 A, so it clears short-circuit faults fast without nuisance tripping on motor inrush. Breaking capacity is 50 kA Icu at 400/415 V AC — that means it can safely interrupt a fault current up to 50 kA at typical 400 V industrial supply without welding contacts or cascading failure upstream. Motor power rating: 30 kW at 400/415 V, 37 kW at 500 V, 55 kW at 690 V. That's the load it can protect in AC-3 duty (squirrel-cage motors, starting and stopping under load). If your motor nameplate exceeds these kW figures at the corresponding voltage, step up to the next TeSys Deca frame.
The 55 mm width fits standard DIN-rail spacing — leaves room alongside a contactor for a compact motor starter combo. IP20 finger-safe terminals; install inside an enclosure rated for the environment. Screw-clamp terminals accept up to 5 N·m torque. Power dissipation is 8 W per pole — at full 65 A load the breaker sheds 24 W total, so account for that heat in your panel thermal budget, especially in a sealed cabinet.
Listed to EN/IEC 60947-2 (circuit-breaker standard) and EN/IEC 60947-4-1 (contactor/motor-starter standard), plus UL 60947-4-1 and CSA C22.2 No 60947-4-1. That dual listing covers both the overcurrent protection and the motor-switching duty — one device, two standards. Also complies with IEC/EN 60335 for appliance applications.
