The Schneider GV3P73 is a current-production motor circuit breaker in the TeSys Deca range, rated for 73 A continuous and intended for motor protection under AC-3 duty. Breaking capacity reaches 65 kA Icu at 230/240 V AC, drops to 50 kA at 400/415 V AC, and further to 12 kA at 500 V AC and 6 kA at 690 V AC — important numbers when sizing for available fault current at the installation point. At 400/415 V AC 50/60 Hz, the breaker supports motors up to 37 kW; at 500 V AC, 45 kW; at 690 V AC, 55 kW — a direct mapping that saves the designer a calculation step.
Thermal-magnetic trip unit with a magnetic trip threshold of 1120 A. That fixed magnetic trip gives short-circuit protection; the thermal element tracks motor heating. Phase failure sensitivity is built in per IEC 60947-4-1, so the breaker will open on a lost phase. Electrical durability is 20,000 cycles under AC-3 at rated current; mechanical durability 50,000 cycles. That sets the expected service life before contact wear becomes a factor.
