Part overview and fit
The TeSys GV4 GV4P25N6 is a 3-pole motor circuit breaker rated for 25 A continuous line current, with an electronic thermal-magnetic trip unit for motor protection. It is sized for 7.5 kW motors at 400–415 V AC and up to 15 kW at 500 V AC. Breaking capacity reaches 100 kA at 240 V AC (IEC 60947-2) and 65 kA at 240 V UL; at 480 V UL it drops to 35 kA — enough for most 480Y/277 V distribution panels. AC-3 utilization category (IEC 60947-4-1) confirms it handles motor starting currents up to 25 A. Phase failure sensitivity is included, so it will trip on single-phasing. Mechanical durability is 40,000 cycles; electrical durability at 440 V AC-3 is 40,000 cycles at full load current and 20,000 at 2× In. Maximum operating rate: 25 cycles per hour.
Mounting and connection
The breaker occupies a 81 mm wide × 155 mm high footprint with a 27 mm connection pitch (35 mm with spreaders). Terminal acceptance: lugs or ring terminals up to 95 mm² for line and load. Tightening torque is 9 N·m for the larger terminals (16–95 mm²) and 5 N·m for the smaller (1.5–10 mm²). Rotary handle control, any operating position, and IP40 enclosure protection. IK07 impact resistance. Power dissipation per pole is 4.6 W at 25 A rated current.
Compliance and certifications
Rated to CSA C22.2 No 60947-4-1, UL 60947-4-1, EN/IEC 60947-4-1, and EN/IEC 60947-2. Pollution degree 3, climatic withstand IACS. Fire resistance 960 °C per IEC 60695-2-11. Suitable for isolation per IEC 60947-1.
