Auxiliary contact block for TeSys contactors
The LA1LB031 is a TeSys auxiliary contact block from Schneider Electric, adding two normally-open instantaneous contacts to a contactor or starter assembly. It mounts directly onto the front of the contactor, expanding the control circuit without additional panel wiring. Rated for 10 A conventional free air thermal current (Ith) and 690 V insulation voltage per IEC 60947-5-1, this block handles typical control-circuit voltages from 24 V DC up to 440 V AC/DC across the making-capacity table.
Termination and wiring constraints
Two screw-clamp terminals accept 1 mm² to 2.5 mm² conductors — the smaller gauge for signal-level wiring, the larger for the full 10 A thermal rating. The clamping mechanism holds stranded or solid wire without ferrules, though ferruled ends simplify insertion in tight panel layouts. The 2 NO configuration is instantaneous, meaning the contacts follow the contactor armature position without delay — no timing or sequencing built into the block. This suits interlocking, status feedback, or control-circuit extension where the auxiliary mirrors the main pole state.
Making capacity spans 1500 VA at 48 V AC (AC-15) up to 7500 VA at 380-415 V AC (AC-15), with corresponding DC-13 ratings from 220 W at 440 V DC to 800 W at 24 V DC. These values define the maximum inrush the contacts can close onto — relevant when switching solenoid loads or small contactor coils. Rated operational power in VA and W is also specified at 1 million or 1.5 million cycles depending on the voltage and duty — the 440 V DC-13 rating at 28 W for 1.5 million cycles is the endurance floor; the 24 V DC-13 rating at 120 W for 1 million cycles is the power ceiling.
